World Daggers Reference Site!
Text Credit to Mr. Kurt Glemser.
Daggers have been a large part of the world's military and political machines for countless ages. They have evolved into symbolic decorations, and are almost never worn into battle.
Although we (Bob Rodgers and Jim Wallace) collect daggers because of their historical interest and their superb craftsmanship, it is not our intention to include or otherwise endorse any political practices. It is up to each visitor to decide for him or her own self what their ideas might be. The daggers shown here are for reference and to show their quality and craftsmanship.
Many daggers can tell their own story in their decorations and construction. When examining one closely, it is usually possible to tell what era it was made in.
Dress daggers come from most countries around the world. Until lately, they have been largely ignored over the years. There have been some books written on the subject, yet not enough. It is our intention to display as many - as space will permit - from our collection and others.
All photographs or text of dress daggers, submitted to this site, become property of Worlddaggers.com. Once submitted, they will be not be removed.
